1.Chloroplasts contains chlorophyll which traps the light energy. The energy is used for the reactions of photosynthesis. We think that chlorophyll or chloroplast converts light energy into chemical energy.

1. The role of chloroplasts in photosynthesis is to produce glucose from carbon dioxide and water. To do this they need to have light energy.

1. Chloroplasts are the cells in a plant that carry the light energy through the plant in order to grow. This process is called photosynthesis.

1. The chlorophyll molecule is the active part that absorbs the sunlight, but just as with hemoglobin, in order to do its job (synthesizing carbohydrates) it needs to be attached to the backbone of a very complicated protein. This protein may look haphazard in design, but it has exactly the correct structure to orient the chlorophyll molecules in the optimal position to enable them to react with nearby CO2 and H2O molecules in a very efficient manner.

1. The role that chloroplasts plays is that it makes the plant healthier and helps it grow stronger. We think it does this because, when the sun hits the plant it has more energy then grows.

1. Chlorophyll is inside the chloroplasts, this is what makes the plant green. The chloroplasts create the food.

BlogsBlogs will be complex questions addressing specific topics covered in class. Blog groups will be assigned each quarter and class time will be given for your responses. New blogs will be posted on Monday and evaluated on Friday. There will NOT be a blog every week. A scoring guide will be available will be used to evaluate the posts. Evaluations will be conducted by the teacher and fellow students. Archives
