The article I am reviewing this week is... Driverless Van Complete 8,000 Mile Journey by Meera Dolasia. Two minivans arrived at the World Expo in Shanghai on October 28th, after finishing an 8,000 mile trip across two continents in just 92 days. This may not seem like such a big accomplishment, except the fact that the minivans were just on the longest trip ever driven by an autonomous or DRIVERLESS VAN!!!!!

This week I am doing an article review on, Coming Soon- 3D Chocolate Printer By Vanessa Felice on 07/11/2011. Thanks to some budding scientists from the UK, chocoholics all over the world, will soon have something to cheer about, their own 3D chocolate! What's even cooler is that this custom chocolate is not hand-crafted, but printed, using their special chocolate printer. This may sound impossible, but you never know until you give it a try!

I am reviewing the article Who Knew Crows Were This Smart? By: Meera Dolasia. The reason humans are considered to be at the top of the food chain is to do with intelligence, and is measured by their ability to build and use advanced tools to solve issues. However, recent research has revealed that a number of animals also display similarly intelligent behavior. But, the new Caledonian Crow found only in the remote South Pacific Island of New Caledonia, the bird resembles other crows in every way, except for its advanced tool use, which beats most birds, but also, most primates, including monkeys.

Not very long ago there was an oil spill in the gulf and it seemed like we would never get it cleaned up. BP's efforts kept failing and we were worried that the clean-up would have a tremendous effect on the region's wildlife. But eventually we succeeded and now it seems as nature has joined us. Nature has formed a gluttonous oil-eating bacteria to help us and it's working efficiently.

The article that I chose this week is “Styrofoam that will protect your T.V. And garden”. This article is how old things can be turned into Styrofoam. Now that scientist found a way that farmers left over basically wont be in our nations land fills.Well now the people at Ecovative uses a useless by-product from farming that is anything from corn husk, oat hills, and soybean husk.

The article I am going to summarizing is Astronomers Make a 'Gem' of a discovery – A Diamond Planet. The author of this article is Sona Dolasia. Just a few weeks ago, NASA's Kepler Spacecraft revealed a dark alien planet - Now, a collaboration of scientists from all over the world have announced something even more exciting - A diamond planet! How cool is that? I think that would be cool if we got to keep some of the find.

The article that I am summarizing is New Species Of 'Sneezing Monkey' Discovered, by By Meera Dolasia of 10/28/2010.This article is primarily about a new species of monkeys being discovered in the past year. These rare monkeys are called 'mey nwoah' or 'monkey with the upturned face'. Many of them have been spotted in China and Vietnam but never in Mynamar until now. Many locals in Mynamar that have recently discovered this significant species have named them this because they are just like any other kind of monkey except for their nose. Their nostrils are upturned. When it rains, rain droplets usually fall into their nostrils, causing them to sneeze for a long period of time. therefore they will keep their faces between their knees for days depending on how long it rains in their climate.

My article is Eurekas Elephants are really smart By: Meera Dolasiaon. The main idea of is that an elephants is one of the smartest animal. Next to the chimpanzee, dolphins, and the common crow. They were getting the elephants to work together and do team work. They had the elephants try to work together to get the food unde3r the fence using the ropes and team work. It did not take the elephant very long before they started to use team work. They tried to see what the elephant would do if they put one of the elephants alone. But when they did the elephant did not do anything it just waited for the other elephant. They said “It that was not enough proof they were going to take it one step further”. Experts believe that the research gave us an important insight in to how elephants can not only learn, but also collaborates with each other. Hopefully it will help us find ways to protect them in the wild. I chose this article because I though that it looked really interesting and it would be cool to see how elephants are smart. It would help me learn by telling me that the elephants learn to work together knew they could not get the task done unless they worked cooperatively. They would just wait for help instead of trying to work on their own.

The article I am reviewing is Need a new shirt? Spray it On! By Meera Dolasia. Scientists are making a new substance called Fabrican. Manel Torres and Paul Lukham have combined their knowledge and came up with this substance. You spray the Fabrican on once and then you get a can of spray paint and spray it on over it and you have a shirt! The Fabrican contains short polymers which can be taken off and washed and dried. It is fabric turned in to liquid form and the when it is sprayed it is so you have to let it dry and when it dries it binds together. The Spray Clothing can be made out of wool, cotton, acrylic, and linen. You can make the clothes thick or thin by spraying on extra layers. Manel thinks that the Spray Clothes may lead to spray on bandages that won’t irritate the wound. The spray on clothing may be going on in a fashion show but is not going to be released to the public yet. The first thing is that the clothing is tight and may not appeal to some people, and the smell they say that there is a strong smell and stays in the clothing. They say that there is still a lot to do about the shirt but soon they will have the kinks out and then I can’t wait to see YOU in a spray on shirt.I think the Spray Clothing is kinda weird i would rather wear a T-shirt than a bunch of paint but oh well any thing is better than nothing!
